Check the care label for “hand wash,” “machine wash,” and temperature limits
If no care label is available, spot-test a small hidden area with water and mild detergent
Shake the blanket out to remove dust and loose debris
Pre-treat visible stains with a small amount of wool-safe detergent
Fill a basin or bathtub with cool or lukewarm water (typically 30°C/86°F or lower)
Use a wool-safe detergent (or a gentle, pH-neutral detergent)
Submerge the blanket and gently press it to soak; avoid scrubbing
Gently agitate by hand for a short time (typically 5–15 minutes)
Drain the soapy water
Rinse with cool water until no detergent remains
Press out water gently using clean towels (do not wring or twist)
Lay flat on a dry towel or drying rack to air-dry
Reshape the blanket while damp
Flip or rotate periodically to promote even drying
Keep away from direct heat, sunlight, and high airflow heaters
If machine washing is allowed on the label: use a gentle cycle, cold water, and wool-safe detergent
If machine washing: place the blanket in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase
Use low spin or skip spin if possible
Dry as above (air-dry flat)
For heavy or bulky blankets: spot-clean or professional clean when in doubt
Store only when fully dry to prevent odors and mildew
