How To Wash Silk?

Check the care label for “dry clean only” or approved washing instructions

If “dry clean only,” do not wash

If washing is allowed, use cold or lukewarm water

Use a gentle detergent formulated for silk or delicates

Turn the silk garment inside out

Place the item in a mesh laundry bag or between clean cotton sheets

Hand wash gently in a basin filled with water and detergent

Avoid scrubbing, wringing, twisting, or rubbing

Swish gently for a few minutes, then let it soak briefly if needed

Rinse in cold water until no detergent remains

Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or stain removers on silk

Remove excess water by laying flat on a clean towel and rolling to absorb moisture

Hang to dry only if the garment is designed for hanging; otherwise lay flat on a towel

Dry in the shade or indoors away from direct heat and sunlight

Press with a low heat iron while slightly damp or use a pressing cloth

Set iron to silk/low, and avoid steam if the fabric is prone to spotting

Store fully dry silk in a breathable garment bag
