Check the care label
Test for colorfastness on a hidden area
Fill a basin with cool water
Add a small amount of gentle detergent made for silk or delicates
Turn the silk item inside out
Submerge and gently swish for a few minutes
Do not rub, wring, or twist
Rinse thoroughly with cool water until soap is gone
Press out excess water gently with your hands
Roll the item in a clean towel to remove more moisture
Lay flat on a dry towel or hang to air dry away from direct sunlight
Reshape while damp
Use a cool iron on the reverse side if needed, with a cloth between the iron and silk
