Wash towels in hot water
Use less detergent than usual
Add white vinegar to the rinse cycle
Add baking soda to the wash cycle
Avoid fabric softener
Dry towels completely after each use
Hang towels so they can air out
Wash towels separately from other laundry
Clean the washing machine regularly
Do not leave damp towels in the hamper
Use the longest drying cycle if needed
Rewash towels with vinegar if odor remains
Sun-dry towels when possible
