Rest the wrist and reduce repetitive hand motions
Wear a wrist splint, especially at night
Keep the wrist in a neutral position
Apply ice for 10 to 15 minutes at a time
Take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers if safe for you
Adjust ergonomics at work and home
Stretch and gently exercise the hand and wrist
Avoid prolonged gripping or vibrating tools
Maintain a healthy weight
Manage underlying conditions such as diabetes or thyroid problems
See a doctor if symptoms persist, worsen, or include weakness or numbness
Consider corticosteroid injections if recommended by a doctor
Consider surgery if other treatments do not help
