Dig up any remaining roots and rhizomes
Place all removed plant material in a sealed trash bag
Do not burn poison ivy
Wash tools, gloves, shoes, and clothing with soap and hot water
Clean the area with a targeted herbicide labeled for poison ivy, following the product instructions exactly
Recheck the area later and remove any missed plants or regrowth
Keep pets and people away from the treated area until it is safe to return
