Remove food sources: store all food in sealed containers, clean up crumbs/spills daily, and keep pet food sealed
Dispose of trash in lidded, sealed bins; keep bins clean and away from walls
Eliminate water sources by fixing leaks and drying wet areas
Keep clutter to a minimum, especially in basements, attics, garages, and behind appliances
Trim vegetation and keep branches, debris, and stacked materials away from the exterior of the house
Use snap traps (preferably along walls and behind/near suspected runways) and check daily
Place bait stations in tamper-resistant boxes (out of reach of children and pets) and follow label directions
Rotate trap/bait locations based on activity and droppings
Clean up droppings and nesting materials using gloves, mask/respirator, and disinfectant; dispose in sealed bags
Use professional pest control if infestation is large, persistent, or you see signs of nesting inside walls/ceilings
Consider hiring a pro for interior wall/ceiling access and targeted treatment
Avoid relying only on ultrasonic devices or repellents for full control
