Use a saline nasal spray or rinse
Inhale steam from a warm shower or bowl of hot water
Drink plenty of fluids
Use a humidifier
Sleep with your head elevated
Blow your nose gently
Try a warm compress over your nose and forehead
Avoid smoke, dust, and strong odors
Use an over-the-counter decongestant if appropriate
Use an over-the-counter antihistamine if allergies are the cause
Rest as much as possible
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, last more than 10 days, or come with high fever, facial pain, or trouble breathing
