Use a lice treatment shampoo or lotion exactly as directed on the label
Comb wet hair with a fine-toothed lice comb to remove lice and nits
Repeat treatment as instructed, usually 7 to 10 days later
Wash bedding, hats, scarves, and recently worn clothing in hot water and dry on high heat
Seal non-washable items in a plastic bag for at least 2 weeks
Vacuum furniture, car seats, and floors
Check and treat all household members if needed
Avoid sharing combs, hats, pillows, and hair accessories
Recheck hair every few days for 2 to 3 weeks
