Wear gloves and eye protection
Wipe off loose dirt and grease
Soak the rusty parts in white vinegar
Scrub with a wire brush or steel wool
Use baking soda and water to make a paste for light rust
Apply a rust remover product according to the label
Sand the rusted areas with sandpaper if needed
Rinse and dry the tools completely
Wipe on a thin coat of oil to prevent new rust
Store tools in a dry place
