Return the item to the store with the receipt and ask them to remove the security tag
Contact the retailer’s customer service for removal instructions or a return/exchange
If the tag is a magnetic hard tag, use the store’s authorized detacher only
If the tag is an ink tag, do not attempt removal yourself
If the tag was accidentally left on after purchase, go back to the store for removal
If you suspect theft-prevention hardware is still attached, do not force it off
If you cannot return to the store, contact the brand or retailer for the nearest location that can remove it
