Unplug the iPhone immediately
Turn the iPhone off
Hold the iPhone with the charging port facing down
Gently tap the iPhone against your hand to help drain water
Leave the iPhone in a dry, well-ventilated area
Use a fan to blow cool air toward the charging port
Let the iPhone dry for at least 30 minutes before trying to charge it
If the liquid detection alert appears, wait until it clears before charging
Do not insert cotton swabs, paper towels, or other objects into the port
Do not use heat, compressed air, or rice
If the port still will not charge after drying, contact Apple Support or a repair professional
