Open the Messages app
Open the conversation containing the message
Touch and hold the text message you want to edit
Tap Edit
Make your changes
Tap the checkmark to save the edited message
Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 16 or later
You can edit a message only within 15 minutes after sending it
You can edit a message up to 5 times
The recipient will see that the message was edited
