Tilt your head toward the affected ear and gently tug the earlobe
Lie on your side with the affected ear facing down
Hop on one foot while keeping the affected ear tilted downward
Create a vacuum by cupping your palm over the ear and pressing gently
Yawn, chew, or swallow to help open the Eustachian tube
Use gravity by bending forward and shaking your head gently
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Use a hair dryer on the lowest, coolest setting, held at a safe distance
Try a few drops of a drying solution if you know your eardrum is intact
Avoid inserting cotton swabs, fingers, or other objects into the ear
Seek medical help if pain, discharge, hearing loss, or dizziness occurs
