How to Get Water Out Your Ear?

Tilt your head toward the affected ear and gently pull the earlobe in different directions

Lie on your side with the affected ear facing down for a few minutes

Gently shake your head to help the water drain out

Create a vacuum by cupping your hand tightly over the ear and releasing it

Use gravity by jumping lightly on one foot with the affected ear tilted downward

Dry the outer ear with a clean towel

Use a hair dryer on the lowest setting, held at a safe distance, to help evaporate moisture

Try swallowing, yawning, or chewing gum to open the ear canal

Use over-the-counter drying ear drops if you do not have a perforated eardrum, ear tubes, or ear infection

Avoid inserting cotton swabs, fingers, or other objects into the ear

Seek medical help if pain, hearing loss, dizziness, discharge, or persistent water remains in the ear
