Contact a veterinarian or poison control center immediately for guidance
Do not induce vomiting unless a veterinarian specifically tells you to do so
Do not use salt, syrup of ipecac, hydrogen peroxide, or any home remedy unless instructed by a veterinarian
If the dog is having trouble breathing, is unconscious, is seizing, or has swallowed a sharp object, do not try to make the dog vomit
If the dog swallowed a caustic substance like bleach, drain cleaner, or acid, do not induce vomiting
If the dog swallowed a petroleum product, do not induce vomiting
Follow the veterinarian’s instructions exactly if vomiting is recommended
Take the dog to an emergency veterinary clinic as soon as possible
