Be at least 15 years old
Enroll in a Texas driver education course
Complete the classroom portion of driver education
Obtain a DE-964 certificate or proof of course completion

Proof of Social Security number
Proof of Texas residency
Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful presence
Proof of school enrollment or completion of a verification form if under 18
Complete the Impact Texas Drivers program if required
Schedule a visit to a Texas DPS office
