Pinch the skin to lift the subcutaneous tissue
Insert the needle at the correct angle as directed for the medication
Inject the medication slowly and steadily
Remove the needle smoothly
Apply gentle pressure with gauze if needed
Do not rub the injection site
Dispose of the needle and syringe in a sharps container
Wash your hands again
