Say “Hey Google” or “OK Google”
Open the Google app and tap your profile picture
Tap Settings
Tap Google Assistant
Turn on Google Assistant
Follow the setup prompts
On Android, open the Assistant app or Google app and complete voice match
On iPhone, install the Google Assistant app and sign in
Make sure your device microphone is enabled
Check that your language is supported
Update the Google app if Assistant is not activating
