Choose a healthy mature aloe vera plant
Select a pot with drainage holes
Use well-draining cactus or succulent soil
Remove the plant from its pot carefully
Separate offsets or pups from the mother plant
Let cut or broken roots dry for 1 to 2 days
Fill the new pot with dry soil
Place the pup or divided plant in the pot
Cover the roots lightly with soil
Keep the crown above the soil line
Do not water immediately after planting
Wait 3 to 7 days before the first watering
Place the pot in bright indirect sunlight
Water only when the soil is completely dry
Avoid overwatering
Keep the plant in a warm location
Repot when the plant becomes root-bound
Remove dead or damaged leaves as needed
