Choose a healthy, firm garlic bulb

Space rows about 12 inches apart

Remove weeds as they appear
Feed with a balanced fertilizer if needed
Let the tops grow through the season
Reduce watering as bulbs mature
Harvest when lower leaves turn brown
Lift bulbs carefully from the soil
Cure bulbs in a dry, airy place
Store cured garlic in a cool, dry location
