How To Grow Lemongrass?

Choose a sunny location with at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily

Use well-draining, fertile soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5

Start with healthy lemongrass stalks, divisions, or nursery plants

Plant stalks or divisions 1 to 2 inches deep with the base covered by soil

Space plants 24 to 36 inches apart

Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist but not soggy

Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds

Feed with compost or a balanced fertilizer during the growing season

Remove weeds and dead leaves as needed

Protect plants from frost and cold temperatures

Grow in containers if your climate is too cold

Divide crowded clumps every 1 to 2 years

Harvest stalks when they are thick and at least 12 inches tall

Cut outer stalks at the base and leave the center to regrow
