Remove the mango pit and wash off all fruit flesh

Carefully open the hard outer shell with a knife or scissors
Remove the seed inside without damaging it
Wrap the seed in a damp paper towel
Place the wrapped seed in a plastic bag or container
Keep it warm and check for sprouting every few days
Plant the sprouted seed in a pot with well-draining soil
Place the seed about 1 inch deep with the root facing down
Water lightly and keep the soil moist, not soggy
Put the pot in a warm, sunny location
Transplant to a larger pot or outdoors when the plant is strong
Protect the young plant from cold temperatures
Water regularly and fertilize lightly as it grows
