Thread a needle and knot the end of the thread
Align the fabric edges right sides together
Insert the needle from the inside of the seam to hide the knot
Bring the needle up through both layers at the starting point
Make small, even stitches along the seam line
Keep the stitch length consistent
Pull the thread snug after each stitch, but do not pucker the fabric
Continue stitching to the end of the seam
Make a few backstitches or small overlapping stitches at the end to secure the seam
Tie off the thread securely
Trim the excess thread close to the knot
