Choose fabric, cord, scissors, pins, and a sewing machine or needle and thread
Cut two fabric rectangles to the desired bag size
Fold and press the top edge of each rectangle twice to form a casing
Sew the folded top edges in place, leaving a channel for the cord
Place the two fabric pieces right sides together
Pin the sides and bottom edges
Sew the side and bottom seams
Finish the raw edges if needed
Turn the bag right side out
Attach a safety pin to one end of the cord
Thread the cord through one casing opening and around the bag
Thread a second cord through the other casing opening if using two drawstrings
Tie the cord ends together or add cord stops
Pull the cords to close the bag
