Locate and mark wall studs
Draw a level reference line for cabinet height
Remove cabinet doors and shelves
Find the highest point of the floor and set the cabinet line from there
Use a ledger board to support base cabinets if needed
Position the first cabinet on the layout line
Shim the cabinet until plumb and level
Drill pilot holes through the cabinet back into studs
Fasten the cabinet to the wall with cabinet screws
Check for level, plumb, and square after each cabinet
Clamp adjacent cabinets together
Drill and screw cabinets together through the face frames or sides
Continue installing remaining cabinets one at a time
Recheck alignment frequently and adjust shims as needed
Install filler strips if required
Reinstall doors, shelves, and hardware
Tighten all fasteners and verify cabinet stability
