Wash feet daily with mild soap and lukewarm water
Pat feet completely dry, especially between the toes
Apply a thick moisturizer or heel balm twice daily
Use petroleum jelly or urea-based cream before bed
Wear socks after moisturizing to lock in moisture
Gently exfoliate dead skin with a pumice stone or foot file
Do not over-scrub or cut the skin
Soak feet briefly before exfoliating
Avoid walking barefoot on hard surfaces
Wear supportive, closed-back shoes
Avoid open-back sandals and flip-flops
Keep feet hydrated by drinking enough water
Treat fungal infections if present
Use bandages or liquid bandage on deep cracks
Reduce long hot showers and harsh soaps
Seek medical care if cracks are painful, bleeding, infected, or not improving
