Rest from activities that worsen the pain

Avoid sitting or standing in one position for too long

Sleep with a pillow between your knees if lying on your side
Avoid high-impact activities until pain improves
See a doctor if pain is severe, lasts more than a few days, or follows an injury
Get urgent care if you cannot bear weight, have fever, swelling, redness, or numbness
