Open your Canva design
Click the text you want to highlight
Add a shape, such as a rectangle or line, behind the text
Resize the shape to cover the text area
Change the shape color to your desired highlight color
Send the shape backward so the text stays visible on top
Adjust the transparency if needed
Group the text and shape to keep them aligned
For hand-drawn style highlighting, use the Draw tool and select a marker or highlighter brush
Drag the highlighter over the text area
Save or download your design when finished
