Drink plenty of fluids: water, ORS, coconut water, clear soups, and fresh fruit juices
Rest completely and avoid physical exertion
Eat a balanced diet with protein-rich foods like eggs, lentils, beans, paneer, tofu, fish, and chicken
Include iron-rich foods like spinach, beetroot, dates, raisins, pomegranate, and jaggery
Include vitamin C-rich foods like oranges, lemons, amla, guava, and tomatoes
Eat folate-rich foods like leafy greens, beans, peas, and avocado
Take papaya leaf juice only if advised by a doctor
Avoid alcohol
Avoid smoking
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, and other NSAIDs unless prescribed
Use only medicines recommended by a doctor for fever or pain
Eat small, frequent meals if appetite is low
Monitor for bleeding, black stools, vomiting, severe weakness, or breathing trouble
Seek immediate medical care if platelets are falling or symptoms worsen
