Turn off the gas supply
Unplug the dryer
Move the dryer into position
Check that the gas type matches the dryer rating
Inspect the gas shutoff valve and supply line for damage
Install a new flexible gas connector if needed
Apply gas-rated thread sealant to threaded fittings only
Connect the gas line to the dryer
Tighten all gas fittings securely
Open the gas shutoff valve
Check all gas connections for leaks with a soap-and-water solution
Connect the dryer vent to the exhaust outlet
Secure the vent with a clamp or foil tape
Make sure the vent is not kinked or blocked
Plug the dryer into a grounded outlet
Level the dryer
Test the dryer on a short cycle
Verify proper ignition, airflow, and exhaust
Call a licensed gas technician if required by local code
