Unplug the dryer and turn off the gas supply if applicable
Pull the dryer away from the wall
Locate the dryer exhaust outlet and the wall vent opening
Measure the distance between the dryer and the vent
Cut the vent hose to the needed length if required
Attach one end of the hose to the dryer exhaust outlet
Secure the connection with a hose clamp or foil tape
Attach the other end of the hose to the wall vent opening
Secure that connection with a hose clamp or foil tape
Make sure the hose is not kinked, crushed, or stretched tight
Position the dryer back in place carefully
Check that the hose remains straight and unobstructed
Plug the dryer back in and restore gas supply if applicable
Run the dryer and inspect for proper airflow and secure connections
