Download a compatible shader pack (e.g., .zip)
Install a shader-capable mod loader (choose one)
– Fabric: install Fabric Loader + OptiFine alternative mods (if required by the shader pack)
– Forge: install Forge + any required shader dependencies
Install OptiFine (if using OptiFine-based shaders)
– Download the OptiFine .jar version compatible with your Minecraft version
– Run the OptiFine .jar installer and select the Minecraft installation profile
Open the Minecraft launcher
– Select the correct profile (OptiFine/Forge/Fabric)
– Launch Minecraft
Open Shader settings
– With OptiFine: Options/Video Settings → Shaders → Shader Packs
– With Fabric/Forge shader mods: open the shader menu from the mod’s settings or in Video Settings
Move shader pack files into the correct folder
– Locate the Minecraft shaderpacks folder (usually inside the instance’s .minecraft directory)
– Place the shader .zip into the shaderpacks folder
Select the shader pack in the shader menu
Click Apply
Adjust settings if needed
– Render distance, shader quality, texture size, shadows, anti-aliasing
Restart Minecraft if the shader menu does not show the pack or if shaders fail to load
Ensure you are using the correct Java version and GPU drivers for your Minecraft version
