Mix 1 part borax with 3 parts sugar
Add enough water to make a thick syrup
Soak cotton balls or small pieces of cardboard with the mixture
Place the bait near ant trails, entry points, and nests
Keep the bait away from children and pets
Do not spray insecticide near the bait
Replace the bait when it dries out or is eaten
Continue until ant activity stops
Clean up food crumbs and spills to prevent new ants
