How To Kill Gnats?

Remove standing water sources (empty trays, buckets, plant saucers, clogged drains)

Let soil dry out between waterings for houseplants

Use sticky traps near windows, doors, and around plants

Apply a hydrogen peroxide solution to plant soil: mix 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide with 4 parts water, then water the soil lightly

For fruit flies/gnats around food: dispose of ripe/rotting produce, clean trash cans, wipe counters, cover food

Clean drains and sink areas with a drain brush and a drain cleaner made for insects/organic buildup

Cover exposed compost and keep it dry or sealed

Vacuum adult gnats and eggs from around windows, baseboards, and plant areas

Use an insect spray labeled for gnats indoors, following label directions

Use an indoor bug zapper or UV light trap as supplemental control

Seal cracks and gaps around windows/doors; repair screens

Wash reusable containers and pet areas; keep pet food sealed
