Measure the head circumference of the person who will wear the beanie
Cast on the required number of stitches for the brim
Join in the round if knitting circularly
Knit the brim in rib stitch or stockinette stitch for the desired length
Switch to the main body stitch pattern
Knit the body until the beanie reaches the desired height
Decrease stitches gradually at the crown
Continue decreasing until only a few stitches remain
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail
Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight
Weave in all loose ends
Block the beanie if needed
Add a pom-pom if desired
