Look for a battery icon with a lightning bolt in the menu bar
Check that the battery percentage is increasing
Hover over the battery icon to see “Charging” or “Power Adapter”
Open Control Center and check the battery status
On newer Macs, confirm the battery icon shows a lightning symbol
If the Mac is off, check for an amber or green light on the charger, if applicable
Use System Settings > Battery to view charging status
Disconnect and reconnect the charger to see if the status changes
Try a different power outlet or charger if charging status does not appear
