You cannot legally or directly know someone’s PAN number by name alone
PAN details are confidential and not publicly searchable by name
You can ask the person to share their PAN card or PAN number directly
You can verify a PAN only if you already have the PAN number
You can use the Income Tax e-Filing portal to verify PAN details with the PAN number
If you need PAN for official work, request it from the individual or the concerned organization
For your own PAN, check your PAN card, income tax records, or Form 26AS
If you lost your PAN, apply for a duplicate PAN card through NSDL or UTIITSL
If you suspect misuse of your PAN, contact the Income Tax Department or file a complaint
