Open the Settings app
Tap General
Tap About
Find Model Name to see the iPad generation name
Find Model Number to identify the exact iPad model
Check the model number on the back of the iPad if needed
Match the model number to Apple’s iPad model list
Check the original box or receipt for the model name
Look up the model number on Apple’s support website
Use the serial number on Apple’s coverage check page if needed
