How to Light Gas Fireplace?

Read the fireplace’s manufacturer instructions

Make sure the gas supply is turned on

Check that the fireplace and surrounding area are clear

Locate the control panel, gas valve, and ignition switch or pilot assembly

Turn the control knob to the pilot position if required

Press and hold the control knob if the model has a pilot light

Press the igniter button or use the built-in ignition switch

Keep holding the control knob for the required time after the pilot lights

Release the control knob and confirm the pilot stays lit

Turn the control knob to the on position

Use the wall switch, remote, or control panel to light the main burner

Adjust the flame height if your model allows it

Turn the fireplace off by switching it to the off position

Shut off the gas supply if the fireplace will not be used for a long time

Stop and call a professional if you smell gas or the fireplace will not light
