Start with a yellow base paint
Add a small amount of brown paint
Mix in a tiny amount of red paint if needed
Add a little white paint to soften the shade
Stir until the color looks like gold
Adjust with more yellow for brightness
Adjust with more brown for a deeper gold
Add metallic gold pigment or gold mica powder for a metallic finish
Mix thoroughly until smooth
