Crack 2–3 eggs into a bowl
Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Whisk the eggs until smooth
Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat
Add a little butter or oil to the pan
Pour in the eggs
Let the eggs cook until the edges start to set
Gently lift the edges and tilt the pan so uncooked egg flows underneath
Add fillings like cheese, vegetables, or ham if desired
Cook until the top is mostly set
Fold the omelette in half
Slide it onto a plate
Serve immediately
