Render beef suet or use plain animal fat
Chop or grate the suet into small pieces
Melt the fat slowly over low heat
Strain out any solids
Let the melted fat cool slightly
Mix in bird-safe ingredients such as:
Rolled oats
Cornmeal
Peanut butter
Sunflower seeds
Millet
Dried fruit
Unsalted nuts
Stir until the mixture is evenly combined
Pour into a mold, tray, or suet feeder
Press a string or hanger into the mixture if needed
Refrigerate or freeze until firm
Remove from the mold and place outdoors in a feeder
Keep suet cool and replace it when it softens or spoils
