Fill a large pot with enough water to fully cover the crab legs
Add salt to the water
Bring the water to a boil
Add crab legs to the boiling water
Reduce heat to a gentle boil
Cook until heated through, about 4 to 6 minutes for thawed crab legs or 8 to 10 minutes for frozen crab legs
Remove the crab legs with tongs
Drain well
Serve hot with melted butter or lemon if desired
