Measure the space and decide the cabinet dimensions
Choose the cabinet style and layout
Select suitable materials such as plywood, MDF, or solid wood
Gather tools including saw, drill, clamps, tape measure, square, and sander
Cut the cabinet sides, top, bottom, back, shelves, and face frame pieces
Sand all cut edges and surfaces
Assemble the cabinet box using glue, screws, or nails
Check that the cabinet is square during assembly
Attach the back panel
Build and attach the face frame if needed
Cut and install shelves, drawers, or dividers
Make and fit cabinet doors and drawer fronts
Install hinges, drawer slides, handles, and other hardware
Fill holes and sand again if needed
Apply stain, paint, or clear finish
Mount the cabinet securely to the wall or floor if required
Inspect alignment and make final adjustments
