1 cup water

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine sugar, water, cocoa powder, and salt in a saucepan

Whisk until smooth

Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat

Reduce heat and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly

Remove from heat

Stir in vanilla extract
