Mark the tail board and pin board square and true
Set the dovetail angle on a marking gauge or dovetail marker
Lay out the tails on the end grain of the tail board
Saw down the tail lines to the baseline
Remove the waste between the tails
Transfer the tail layout to the pin board
Mark the pin board waste areas
Saw down the pin lines to the baseline
Remove the waste between the pins
Test the fit of the joint
Pare tight spots with a chisel
Assemble the joint with glue if needed
Clamp the joint until set
