Preheat oven to 375°F
Line baking sheets with parchment paper
Cream 1 cup softened butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup brown sugar
Beat in 2 large eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
In a separate bowl, whisk 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients
Stir in 2 cups chocolate chips
Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes
Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes
Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely
