Mine iron ore or deepslate iron ore with a stone pickaxe or better
Collect raw iron from the mined ore
Build or use a furnace, blast furnace, or smoker
Place fuel in the bottom slot
Place raw iron in the top slot
Wait for smelting to finish
Take the iron ingot from the output slot
