Start with brown paint
Add white paint little by little
Mix thoroughly after each addition
Stop when the brown becomes light enough
Add a tiny amount of yellow if needed to warm the tone
Add a tiny amount of red if needed to make it less dull
Add more white to make it lighter
Add more brown to make it darker if needed
