How to Make Mangú?

Peel and cut green plantains into chunks

Boil the plantains in salted water until very soft

Drain the plantains, reserving a little of the cooking water

Mash the plantains with butter or oil and a little reserved water until smooth

Add salt to taste

Serve with sautéed red onions on top

Serve with fried eggs, fried cheese, and salami if desired
